YULETIDE forges original Christmas & New Year music — a whole season of it — entirely from scratch in your browser.

Pick a category, pick a scene, shape a few dials, and it composes and synthesizes an original loop with no samples and no repetition. It's a dev tool: make a track, export it, and drop it into your game. Your loops are original and yours to ship.

It's built to the same expansive scale as its Halloween sibling — 52 scenes across 13 categories, built from 12 fundamentally different musical forms, so the tracks never blur into one background wash.

13 categories, 52 scenes

Filter the scene grid by category, then pick your moment:

  • Carols — Carolers, Descant, Wassail, Joybells
  • Over the Snow — Sleighing, Dashing, Troika, Bells Afar
  • Candlelight — Stillness, Starlight, Snowfall Hymn, Vigil
  • Nutcracker — Sugarplum, Snow Waltz, Toy March, Trepak
  • Winterland — Snowscape, Flurries, Icebound, Frost Fair
  • Fireside — Hearth, Cocoa, Chestnuts, Embers
  • Toy Workshop — Workshop, Elves, Wrapping, Tinker
  • Cozy Jazz — Lounge, Nightcap, Midnight Blue, Mistletoe
  • Nativity — Nativity, Manger, Gloria, Procession
  • Frost & Snow — Frostbite, Blizzard, Aurora, Crystalline
  • New Year's Eve — Countdown, Midnight, Fireworks, Champagne
  • Ballroom — Grand Waltz, Vienna, Gala, Promenade
  • Year's End — Auld Acquaintance, Reflection, Remembrance, Farewell

12 musical forms

Every scene is built from a genuinely different construction — not one texture reskinned: choral carol, orchestral sleigh ride, delicate music box, cozy holiday jazz, reverent church organ, classical nutcracker (pizzicato + celesta), winter folk, warm fireside ambient, sparkling bell choir, a New Year countdown (ticking → riser → fanfare), big-band party swing, and a grand Viennese waltz.

You're in control — 6 sliders + 5 selectors

  • Warmth — frozen → cozy (mode color & timbre)
  • Cheer — solemn → jubilant (reverent vs merry)
  • Grandeur — intimate → grand (layers & scale)
  • Tempo — gentle → spirited
  • Sparkle — plain → dazzling (bells, celesta, ornaments)
  • Space — close → cathedral (reverb & tail)
  • Plus Form (force any scene into another of the 12 forms), Meter (4/4, 3/4 waltz, 6/8, 2/4), Palette (Orchestral / Bells / Jazz / Choir), Key, and Length (Short → Epic ~90s).
  • New arrangement rolls a fresh seed — new mode, tempo, form detail and arc every time. The seed + sliders reproduce any track exactly.

Export & drop in

  • .ogg — game-ready, with LOOPSTART / LOOPLENGTH loop tags baked in. Drop it into your project's audio/bgm/ folder and RPG Maker (MZ and MV) loops it seamlessly.
  • .wav — uncompressed, for editing in a DAW.

Good to know

Runs offline in any modern browser — nothing installs, nothing uploads. A short README with full instructions is included. Every sound — choirs, bells, organs, sleigh bells, celesta, brass, strings — is synthesized from scratch with the Web Audio API. No samples, no external assets.

YULETIDE emulates the style and techniques of seasonal and holiday music; it does not contain or reproduce any existing songs or recordings, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any artist, label, or rights holder.

FAQ

Is the music royalty-free? Can I use it commercially? Yes. Everything YULETIDE exports is original and yours to use in commercial or free projects, no attribution required. A credit ("Music forged with YULETIDE") is appreciated but optional.

Does it use samples or copyrighted holiday songs? No. Every sound is synthesized from scratch with the Web Audio API, and it never reproduces any existing carol, song, or recording — it emulates a style. All scene names are original.

With 52 scenes, does it all just sound like the same background jingle? No — that's the point of the 12 forms. A choral carol, a jingling sleigh ride, a delicate music box, a cozy jazz trio, a cathedral organ, a Tchaikovsky-style nutcracker and a midnight countdown are built completely differently. The Form selector also lets you push any scene into another form, and Palette re-instruments it, so the combinations run into the thousands.

Is it just Christmas, or New Year too? Both. Alongside carols, sleigh rides and nativity pieces, there's a whole New Year's Eve category (Countdown, Midnight, Fireworks, Champagne), a Ballroom of grand waltzes and gala swing, and a reflective Year's End set for Auld-Lang-Syne-style farewells.

Will the loops loop seamlessly in RPG Maker? Yes — export the .ogg. It carries LOOPSTART/LOOPLENGTH tags MZ and MV read to loop with no gap. (The .wav has no loop tags; use it only for DAW editing.)

MZ only, or MV too? Both. They both read .ogg for BGM. Put the file in audio/bgm/.

Can I use these outside RPG Maker — another engine, a holiday video, a stream, a shop playlist? Yes. The .ogg/.wav are ordinary audio files; the loop tags are simply ignored by tools that don't read them.

Do I need to install anything or be online? No. It's one .html file — download it, open it in a browser, work offline forever.

How do I get the exact same track back later? Note the seed shown on screen and keep your slider + selector values; re-enter them for an identical render.

No sound when I open it? Click Play once. Browsers block audio until you interact with the page.

The OGG button says the encoder didn't load. Refresh and retry. Fallback: export the .wav and run ffmpeg -i track.wav -c:a libvorbis track.ogg (no loop tags that way; prefer the built-in OGG export).

Is this "AI music"? The composition and sound come from hand-written procedural DSP code — not a generative-audio AI model. The tool's code was developed with LLM assistance, which is disclosed above.
