Fallowland (Fallout4-like) BGM Generator - RPG Maker MZ & MV
A downloadable generator
FALLOWLAND forges original post-apocalyptic music — desolate ambient beds of lonely strings and piano, toxic drones, and the crackle of a distant retro radio — entirely from scratch in your browser.
Point it at a zone, shape three dials, and it composes and synthesizes a loop with no samples and no repetition. It's a dev tool: make a track, export it, and drop it into your game. Your loops are original and yours to ship.
What makes it different
- Nine zones, plus a Radio mode — from the barren Wastes to a warm Settlement — and flip Air to Radio for a crackly diegetic swing tune.
- Atmosphere over melody — time-based (not beat-locked): evolving pads, long reverb tails, sparse reflective motifs and desolate space.
- Depth you can dial — Desolation darkens the harmony, drops the register, muffles the mix and drowns it in reverb as the world gets bleaker.
9 zones
- The Wastes — desolate expanse
- Ruins — eerie & broken
- The Vault — cold & enclosed
- Exodus — lonely hope
- Radiation — toxic dread
- Settlement — weary warmth
- Radio — crackly retro swing
- Nightfall — reflective calm
- Overpass — vast & grey
You're in control
- Desolation — tended → barren (mode, register & reverb)
- Signal — pure ambient → singing melody
- Decay — clean → broken (dissonance, detune & vinyl grit)
- Plus Key, Air (Auto / Ambient / Radio — Radio adds a crackly swing groove & vinyl hiss), and Length (Short ~30s / Medium ~48s / Long ~70s (time-based ambient)).
- Reshuffle rolls a fresh seed — new mode, tempo, instrumentation and line every time. The seed + sliders reproduce any track exactly.
The instruments
Every sound is synthesized from scratch — lonely strings, solo violin, felt piano, cello, archtop guitar, flute, horn, celesta, warm/dark/glass pads, sustained drones and upright bass — plus wind, sub-rumble and vinyl-crackle textures; the Radio mode adds brushed kit, walking upright bass and comping guitar. Harmony draws on minor, dorian, major, mixolydian and phrygian, as slow evolving ambient (no strict beat) — except the Radio mode's swing.
Export & drop in
.ogg— game-ready, with LOOPSTART / LOOPLENGTH loop tags baked in. Drop it intoaudio/bgm/and RPG Maker (MZ and MV) loops it seamlessly..wav— uncompressed, for editing in a DAW.
Good to know
Runs offline in any modern browser — nothing installs, nothing uploads. A short README with full instructions is included.
FALLOWLAND emulates the style and techniques of wasteland scores; it does not contain or reproduce any existing music, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Bethesda Softworks or any other rights holder.
FAQ
Is the music royalty-free? Can I use it commercially? Yes. Everything FALLOWLAND exports is original and yours to use in commercial or free projects, no attribution required. A credit ("Music forged with FALLOWLAND") is appreciated but optional.
Does it use samples or copyrighted audio? No. Every sound is synthesized from scratch with the Web Audio API. It never reproduces any existing track — it emulates a style.
Will the loops loop seamlessly in RPG Maker? Yes — export the .ogg. It carries LOOPSTART/LOOPLENGTH tags that MZ and MV read to loop with no gap. (The .wav has no loop tags; use it only for DAW editing.)
MZ only, or MV too? Both. They both read .ogg for BGM. Put the file in audio/bgm/.
Can I use these outside RPG Maker — for another engine, a video, or a stream? Yes. The .ogg/.wav are ordinary audio files usable anywhere; the loop tags are simply ignored by tools that don't read them.
Do I need to install anything or be online? No. It's one .html file — download it, open it in a browser, work offline.
How do I get the exact same track back later? Note the seed shown on screen and keep your slider values; re-enter them for an identical render.
No sound when I open it? Click Play once. Browsers block audio until you interact with the page.
The OGG button says the encoder didn't load. Refresh and retry. Fallback: export the .wav and run ffmpeg -i track.wav -c:a libvorbis track.ogg (no loop tags that way; prefer the built-in OGG export).
Is this "AI music"? The composition and sound come from hand-written procedural DSP code — not a generative-audio AI model. The tool's code was developed with LLM assistance, which is disclosed above.
