Wayfarer — Adventure BGM Generator for RPG Maker MZ/MV

Wayfarer is a self-contained music forge for RPG Maker. Pick a scene, hit
reshuffle until something catches your ear, and export a loop-ready track
straight into your project. No account, no upload, no server — it's one HTML
file that runs entirely in your browser.

Every track is composed and synthesized from scratch. There are no samples,
no audio files, and no AI audio models involved — just deterministic music
theory and Web Audio synthesis. That means everything it produces is original
and yours to use.

Each preset carries its own modal palette, tempo range, meter, instrument
set, and percussion style — so a Temple track and a Fanfare track don't just
differ in speed, they're built on different musical foundations.

▎REAL SONGCRAFT, NOT RANDOM NOTES

Most generators shuffle notes over a chord loop and hope. Wayfarer composes
the way adventure-game scores actually work:

- Modal harmony — Lydian, Mixolydian, Dorian, Aeolian, Phrygian and
Phrygian-dominant, with ♭VII–I and IV–I cadences and tonic pedal drones
instead of generic pop progressions.

- Motif development — a short melodic idea is stated, answered, sequenced,
and inverted across an AABA form. Your themes have a shape and a payoff,
not just eight bars of noodling.

- Ornamentation — grace notes and trills, plus an optional pentatonic
constraint for singable, folk-flavored leads.

- Meter variety — 4/4, 3/4 waltz, and 6/8 compound lilt.

- Orchestral voices synthesized from scratch — ocarina lead, harp, warm
horns, tuned timpani, celesta bells, and choir pads. Drum kits appear only
where they belong.

▎BUILT FOR RPG MAKER

- Exports .ogg with LOOPSTART and LOOPLENGTH tags already written in, so
tracks loop seamlessly in-engine with zero setup. Drop the file into
audio/bgm/ and select it.

- Also exports .wav at 44.1kHz stereo for editing in your DAW.

- Seamless looping is handled properly — the reverb tail wraps onto the
head, so there's no gap or click at the loop point.

- Every track is peak-normalized. Nothing clips.

▎SEEDS

Each track has a six-character seed. Save it, share it, or type it back in
to reproduce that exact track note-for-note, forever. Found a perfect town
theme? The seed is your backup.

▎HOW TO USE

1. Launch it here in your browser (or download and open the HTML file).
2. Pick a scene. Press Reshuffle until a theme grabs you.
3. Choose your loop length — 8, 16, or 24 bars.
4. Export .ogg.
5. Drop it into your project's audio/bgm/ folder and set it as the BGM.

Works in RPG Maker MZ and MV. The .wav export works anywhere — Godot,
Unity, GameMaker, Ren'Py, or a video edit.

▎REQUIREMENTS

Any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari). No installation, no
plugin, no internet connection needed once loaded. Nothing you make ever
leaves your machine.

▎LICENSE

Music you generate with Wayfarer is yours. Use it in commercial and
non-commercial projects, no credit required and no royalties owed. Credit
is always welcome but never expected.

You may not resell the tool itself or redistribute it as your own.

▎A NOTE ON STYLE

Wayfarer draws on the compositional grammar of classic adventure game
scores — modal writing, motif development, ocarina and harp textures. It
implements those techniques to produce entirely new material. It does not
contain, reference, or reproduce any existing music. Not affiliated with or
endorsed by any game publisher.
